Our History

Alright, about us... where to begin...

My name is Robyn, and my family has been quilting for the past few generations. However textiles and lace has been in my heritage since the mid 1600's.

My grandma Betty is the master quilter.  In the early 80's she was living in Lancaster, PA, where she learned to quilt from her Amish friends.  After returning to Canada, she continued to quilt, and in 1987 she won a competition. Her winning quilt is in a museum in Manitoba (A province/state in Canada). Now she spends her time making a lot of blankets for charity.

My mom, Myra Harder, is the professional quilter.  She has written 2 books on her own and co-authored 5 others with another quilter.  Her work has been featured in over 30 magazines.  She has been working in design for years, and she has helped me start up this company.  She has given me advice and is the reason I'm a business person to this day.

So far, I have been designing for my mom....or at least helping her design since I was young....until I kept touching everything and she would kick me out of her office. I have currently have made it into 2 magazines, including 1 on the cover!  Imagine my excitement when I found out! And currently I am slowly taking over the company.

Robinson Pattern Company's goal is to make easy, beautiful patterns that anyone can  make, whether you are a beginner, or a pro.  We try our best to make patterns that you would enjoy to make without a hassle.
