Robin's Nest Quilt Pattern - Printed Instructions

If you look through old quilting books, you may find this block called ‘The Wedding Ring’.  It is most common to find it done in solid red, on a white background.  It is a classic quilt that has been around for decades and it is one of my favorites.

When I came across it again, I started picturing it done with scraps.  Since I have quite a stash of scraps, I thought this would be the perfect place to use them up!  As I was doing my calculations, I realized that this block is actually the perfect place to use a layer cake of 10” squares.  Each square would give me a total of 8 half square triangles.  And when I grouped the same fabrics to form each corner, it suddenly looked like birds returning to the nest.  And now this old block is definitely my favorite!
